Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Babblidoo different?

We're a parent-led UK brand built around one belief — that everything surrounding your child should be beautiful, purposeful and free from unnecessary plastic. Every piece in our range is hand-selected for its natural materials, thoughtful design and genuine usefulness in everyday family life.

We combine Montessori principles with modern nursery aesthetics — so the things in your home don't just look good, they actively support your child's independence, curiosity and confidence from the earliest days.

Every order is carefully packed and shipped from London, and we're always on hand at hello@babblidoo.com if you need us.

What materials do you use?

Natural wood, organic cotton, linen and food-grade BPA-free silicone. We choose food-grade silicone because it's safer, longer-lasting, easy to clean, and free from BPA, lead and phthalates. BPA (bisphenol A) is a chemical once commonly used in plastics that can transfer into food or drink, particularly when exposed to heat — many parents choose BPA-free products for added peace of mind. Our packaging is also plastic-free, using recyclable boxes, tissue and stickers.

Are your products safe for babies?

Yes. All Babblidoo products carry the CE mark, and selected products also hold UKCA certification. The UK government recognises CE marking as valid for sale until at least December 2027, at which point all our products will carry both marks.

As with all baby and toddler products, we recommend adult supervision during play and mealtimes.

Who was Maria Montessori?

Over a century ago, Dr Maria Montessori helped turn education on its head. An Italian doctor and educator, she believed children learn best not by being told everything, but by exploring, practising and discovering for themselves. That thinking lives on in Montessori furniture and toys: low shelves, child-sized designs and simple, purposeful materials that help little ones build independence, concentration and confidence through everyday play. The result is a home set-up that looks beautiful, works hard and gives children more freedom to learn, choose and grow.

Exactly the kind of smart, calm parenting win we like at Babblidoo.

What age is Montessori furniture suitable for?

Most items are suitable from 18 months to 5 years, depending on the product.

How does Montessori furniture support my child's development?

Montessori furniture is designed to encourage independence, creativity and confidence by allowing children to access and use their things safely and comfortably at their own level.

What is a Montessori bookshelf?

A Montessori bookshelf is front-facing, so children can see book covers clearly and choose independently. The child-friendly height means little ones can access and return books on their own, encouraging a love of reading and tidy habits from an early age.
